Stepdown Brand Project Nominated for a Scottish Design Award

We’re absolutely thrilled to share that our brand identity work for Stepdown has been nominated for a Scottish Design Award in the Brand Identity – Civic category.

This is a huge honour—and a first for us. While we’ve been quietly crushing it in recent years, this marks the first time we’ve ever submitted anything to the Scottish Design Awards. To be nominated right out of the gate (and alongside some of the country’s top creative studios) feels surreal.

Stepdown is a charity that exists to create brighter futures for young people, supporting them through some of the toughest transitions in life. It’s a powerful mission—one we felt incredibly privileged to help bring to life through their rebrand. The new identity needed to feel human, bold, and unmistakably theirs.

Our work began with one of the biggest brand workshops we’ve ever delivered—two full days at the Hilton in Glasgow with over 50 participants. We worked closely with staff, stakeholders, and people from across the organisation to dig deep into the heart of what Stepdown is all about. What followed was a complete reimagining of their brand—from tone of voice and values to colour, typography, and a new logo packed with meaning.

Here’s what our Lead Designer Dan Laing had to say about the nomination:

“I’m really proud to have received a nomination for the first project we have entered into the Scottish Design Awards, and to be recognised alongside such excellent work is unbelievable (imposter syndrome is at an all-time high!). As a designer, it is always a privilege when you can work on something meaningful such as Stepdown, but to have that work recognised is a true honour.”

The winners will be announced at the awards ceremony on 25th June, and regardless of the outcome, we’re just delighted to see our work and our team recognised at this level.
