When a Brand Development Workshop Doesn’t Go to Plan (and Why That’s Okay)

Not every Brand Development Workshop goes exactly to plan — and sometimes, that’s part of the story worth telling.

Our final brand workshop of the year took place with Elevation Carbon, an industry-leading Middle East–based sustainability consultancy working at the forefront of carbon reduction and net zero strategy. It was an ambitious, future-focused brief, and a fitting way to close out a year of creative thinking and collaboration.

Just as happens in life sometimes, this workshop came with its challenges. A few presentation hiccups meant screen sharing froze more than once, forcing us to stop, restart and adapt on the fly. Slightly uncomfortable in the moment, but also a reminder that things don’t always go exactly as planned and that it’s always important to stay positive and adapt to find a solution.

Credit goes to the team at Elevation Carbon for their patience and understanding throughout. Those moments didn’t define the session but our work did.

Once everything was shared in full and the brand thinking came together in context, the feedback was exactly what a brand workshop is designed to achieve. The team told us that while they weren’t entirely sure where we were heading at the very start, everything clicked once the full picture was revealed. They recognised the direction immediately as their brand — and were genuinely excited about where it could go.

That reaction is always validating. It reinforces the value of taking clients on a brand journey, not just presenting a finished idea, but showing the thinking, structure and purpose behind it.

We’re delighted to say the workshop was a success, and a strong, positive way to close out the year. In January, we’ll be putting the finishing touches on the Elevation Carbon brand before handing everything over to our web team to begin work on their new website.
